About the event
The Fallen Heroes Memorial Flag is a 28-foot wide by 6-foot tall American flag sculpture made from approximately 7,000 dog tags, representing service members who died during the Global War on Terror (GWOT). It also includes 50 gold stars, each honoring a Gold Star Family from each state. The flag's design symbolizes the flag draped over a fallen service member's casket. A battlefield cross sculpture, crafted from mahogany by a veteran artist, is displayed in front of the flag.
This memorial is a traveling exhibit created by Veterans and Athletes United (VAU) to honor those who died in service during the GWOT. It has been displayed at various locations, including the Airborne & Special Operations Museum, MacDill Air Force Base, and the World Trade Center.

All proceeds from its travel go to support Gold Star family organizations and GWOT Memorial Foundations mission to build a national memorial in Washington, D.C.
